Help for your ministry

If you feel you would benefit, we hope you’ll take advantage of our free counselling and retreats for ministry leaders. We hope you find our articles for those in ministry beneficial too.

Here you can learn about additional programs and resources from Focus on the Family Canada (and others) that will help you minister to the families in your sphere of influence.

We host Hope Restored marriage intensives for couples who have lost all hope for their marriage and are on the brink of divorce.

Over the course of three to five days the couples receive counselling with therapists who are trained to deal with crisis situations. And the results are remarkable: over 80 percent of couples who attend a Hope Restored intensive are still together two years later. Both congregants and ministry couples have significantly benefitted from this program. Learn more

Designed for couples who want to make a strong marriage even stronger, our Marriage Enrichment conferences and retreats help couples refocus on what God desires for their relationship.

All Marriage Enrichment conferences and retreats are led by professional marriage counsellors, and they provide couples who attend with proven communication and conflict resolution tools to help them create a more vibrant, intimate and loving marriage. Learn more

Published six times a year, Focus on the Family magazine helps readers grow in Christ within the marvellous mayhem of family life, helping them become more loving spouses, more attentive parents and more confident in the spiritual nurturing of their children.

For just the cost of shipping, you can order bulk copies of Focus on the Family magazine for distribution to your church families – a great way to help your congregation take home what you teach and apply it to their most important relationships!

To learn more about bulk copies for your church, call us at 1.800.661.9800.

We also publish Focus Famille, a similar magazine for francophone families in Canada. For information about bulk copies of Focus Famille for your church, visit FocusFamille.ca/Le-Magazine.

People in crisis often turn to their pastor first, sometimes seeking help with traumatic situations.

We’ve prepared a handy quick reference list to help you refer your congregants to appropriate emergency services – Canadian services such as suicide prevention hotlines, rape crisis hotlines and more.

You can find the list online here.

When members of your congregation request a referral to a Christian counsellor, we can help.

Any member of your congregation can call us directly for a free, one-time phone consultation with one of the professional counsellors on staff at Focus on the Family Canada. They simply need to call 1.800.661.9800 and ask to speak to a care associate. The care associate will arrange a convenient time for them to speak with one of our counsellors.

Focus on the Family Canada also works with a country-wide network of professional Christian counsellors – our Counsellor Referral Network. You or your congregants can call us at 1.800.661.9800 for a counsellor recommendation.

(Counsellors interested in joining our Counsellor Referral Network can email [email protected] or call 1.888.5.CLERGY for an application form. Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree in a related field, membership in a professional organization and professional insurance.)

Parents in your congregation will appreciate being pointed to Kids of Integrity, an extensive set of free, downloadable lesson plans that make it super easy to coach elementary age kids in Christ-like character.

Kids love the lessons because they’re so fun, and we’ve heard from many Sunday school teachers who love Kids of Integrity too!

There are 28 Kids of Integrity lessons available, each focused on a specific character trait, such as patience, honesty or self-control, and each incorporating Bible stories, discussion questions, crafts and games.

You can learn more about Kids of Integrity at KidsOfIntegrity.com.

With so many secular voices clamouring to be heard, it’s important for Christians to have biblically grounded advice to turn to – especially when difficulties come their way.

We have many articles available online to help your congregants understand how to maintain a vibrant, fulfilling marriage, parent wisely through all their kids’ ages and stages, and deal with major setbacks in life, such as depression, abuse, grief and loss and much more.

All these articles are available online at FocusOnTheFamily.ca.

When you’re seeking resources for your personal development, or for your church community, check out our online bookstore at Shop.FocusOnTheFamily.ca. We offer resources you can trust, since each one has been rigorously evaluated to ensure it aligns with biblical truth.

You can find resources for pastors and ministry leaders here.

You can find studies for small groups here.

You can find our popular Adventures in Odyssey series for kids here, plus more for kids here, and resources for teens and young adults too.
